ECOLOGY, ENVIRONMENT AND TERRITORY
LOW ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
The IDYLIUM factory is in Castellón, in the largest district in Europe for the processing of stone by-products.
Suppliers and materials are zero-km, tracked and guaranteed with regard to safety and recycled content.
IDYLIUM: 4.0 quarry
Synthetic stone is a choice to safeguard the delicate ecosystems from which natural stones such as marble, onyx and quartzite are extracted.
IDYLIUM is a 4.0 quarry, where the sintered stone is created as in the mountain, according to natural processes, very complex to reproduce industrially.
WATER
All wastewater from the plant’s production cycle is returned to the process and 100% reused.
IDYLIUM’s water management is a closed loop. Thanks to patented technologies with innovative hydraulic power generators, energy consumption is reduced by up to 30%.
WASTE
100% of raw waste (fragments and powders) is recovered and reused, both internally and externally.
IDYLIUM starts from partly-recycled raw material: it thus also recovers waste produced by third parties.
A filter in the furnace purifies the gaseous waste from acid gases (sulfur, chlorine and fluorine).
DISPOSAL
In Bio construction and for BIM, attention to the full life cycle of the architectural product is critical.
At the end of its long life, IDYLIUM Mineral Stone can be disposed of as an inert product which, on the waste risk scale, is the lowest level, easiest to manage and least costly.
HOW THE MINERAL STONE IDYLIUM IS CREATED

RAW MATERIALS
Oxides of natural origin, clays and feldspars in pulverized form.
24% is recycled waste material.
No added resins, no chemical additives.

PRESS
Mechanical pressure of 35,000 tons. It recreates the natural process of stone formation without any chemical binders.
The waste material is 100% recycled.
3.
DRYER
Maximum temperature of 150°C.
Gas-fired and with recovery of thermal energy from the OVEN (5).
4.
DIGITAL PRINTING
Advanced technologies that eliminate waste. Hydraulic power generator reduces energy consumption by up to 30%.
Water used for washing is 100% recycled.
5.
KILN
Maximum temperature 1250°C.
The pre-kiln is fed by recovery gas.
The cooling operation does not use thermal energy.
6.
FILTERS
They purify gaseous waste from acid gases (sulfur, chlorine and fluorine) avoiding their release into the atmosphere.
7.
DISCARDS
100% of raw waste (fragments and powders) is recovered and reused, both in the process and externally.

Anti-pollution power
IDYLIUM is developing an exclusive formula capable of annihilating organic compounds that settle on surfaces through photocatalytic oxidation, a natural process that mimics chlorophyll photosynthesis.
This treatment will be able to reduce air pollution. Both outside (thanks to the application of ventilated facades) and inside the house, exerting a bactericidal effect even more necessary in delicate contexts, such as schools and health facilities.
SYNERGIES with the territory
In addition to the business IDYLIUM develops collaborations to create valuable synergies in the territory.
First of all, those with SDA Bocconi, Politecnico di Milano, Bologna Business School and University of Genoa.
With some workers and importers of natural stones, IDYLIUM is studying alternatives to some very rare natural stones in order to avoid their extraction.

The 40,000 square meters of industrial area will be covered with photovoltaic panels to reach, in optimal conditions, the self-production up to 100% of the electricity needs of the company, drastically reducing CO2 emissions.
The ventilated facades made with IDYLIUM surfaces activate oxidation and destroy the polluting compounds deposited on them.
